MTAT.08.039 Applications of Parallel Computing.
University of Tartu is participating at project XSEDE. The XSEDE project and the University of California, Berkeley are offering an online course on parallel computing for graduate students and advanced undergraduates. Computers available are Stampede (Dell+Intel+Phi accelerators, #7 on top 500), Blacklight (Intel, shared memory programming possible on 2048 cores), Trestles (AMD cluster). It is also possible to use the clusters at Tartu. Lectures will be given online. Locally there will be seminars, discussions as well as computer classes. On behalf of the University of Tartu the course is supervised by Dr Benson Kibugi Muite.
More information about the course can be found e.g. at the previous year web-pages:

IMPORTANT: For participation you need to register at early. This is due to an earlier start of the online course at Berkeley. For the organisers to be able to register the students at the course portal you need to register by 15th January 2013. The course online lectures begin already on the 21 January. Please also get an XSEDE username at
as soon as possible and before 15 January. This will allow setup of access to computational resources and online interactive course content. Please mail your XSEDE username to benson.muite@ut.ee
