News
- 23-Jan-2015 -- The grading of the retake exam is now complete. The marking results can be found under section Grading.
- 20-Jan-2015 -- The grading of exam 2 is now complete. Of 69 participating students, 67 passed, with a top score of 32 marks in the exam and a top score of 101.3 marks for the whole course. The marking results can be found under section Grading. The retake exam is scheduled for this week Friday, 14:15-16:15, in room 405. If you are one of the 2 students who did not how up or who did not pass, please register for the retake exam.
- 14-Jan-2015 -- Good news! The grading of exam 1 is now complete. The marks can be found under section Grading. In total, 83 students submitted a solution, and all of them passed - so, no need to think about the retake exam anymore. The results are very good. Together with the marks for the labs, the overall course grades are distributed as follows for the successful exam 1 participants: A=15 / B=29 / C=28 / D=8 / E=3.
- 05-Jan-2015 -- Please note that due to some swapping of registrations, there are now again a few free seats available for the upcoming exam on 09-Jan-2015. As far as I can see, there are six students left who still need to register for the exam.
- 18-Dec-2014 --- This is to give some information regarding the labs and the final exam:
1. I am pleased to inform that all 155 students who have been active in the labs throughout the term have surpassed the 30 marks threshold and thus are admitted to the final exam.
2. Remember that you must participate in the final exam in order to not fail the course, even if you have already achieved 50 marks or more in the labs. There is a 10 marks threshold set in the exam. If you receive less than 10 marks in the exam, or less than 50 marks in both labs and exam together, you must sign-up for the re-take exam.
3. Remember that you must sign up for the final exam. The first exam date (9-Jan-2015) has already reached its capacity limit of 90 students. Thus, those of you who haven't yet signed up for the final exam can only sign up for the second exam date (16-Jan-2015).
4. When you come to the exam in January, only those students will be admitted to take the exam that have properly registered for the day of the exam they are attending. Please bring your ID for identification in case there is need for an identity check.
Thanks for participating in the course.
Have a relaxing winter break and see you in January during the exam!
- 17-Dec-2014 -- Please note that the exam on 09-Jan-2015 is FULL. You can from now on only register for the second exam date on 16-Jan-2015. According to SIS, as of today, 17 students still need to register.
- 12-Dec-2014 -- No lecture today. Please remember that next week, in the labs, lab task 7 will be assessed/evaluated. Thus, all team members must be present during their lab session.
- 19-Nov-2014 -- As of today, 48 students have registered for Exam 1 and 13 students have registered for Exam 2. Please remember that we have a capacity limit of 90 students per exam date (due to room size limitations). Thus, if you know, for example, that you must take the exam on 9 Jan 2015 and cannot take it on 16 Jan 2015, please secure your seat in Exam 1 by registering in time via SIS (OIS). We have still about 155 active students in this course, so we will have between 65 and 90 students in each exam.
- 17-Oct-2014 -- As announced earlier, there won't be a lecture today, due to collision with the ICS Day (ATI Päev). I strongly recommend attending the ICS Day's opening lecture given by Prof. Jaak Vilo and Prof. Marlon Dumas, as well as visiting the research groups' sessions. You will get an overview of the research being done in the Institute's groups and perhaps get interested in some topic that might lead to your bachelor thesis project. Details about the ICS Day schedule can be found here: http://www.cs.ut.ee/en/ics-day
- 15-Oct-2014 -- The rooms and the times of exams have now been booked by the Dean's office. Note that you need to register for the exam. Since we have 158 active students in the class and room capacities are limited, a capacity limit had to be set for each exam. The limit is 90 students (per exam). The registration follows the FIFO (first-come-first-serve) principle. You find the dates above under the heading 'Exam Dates'.
- 02-Oct-2014 -- The marks for lab assignment 1 can be found under section Grading.
- 19-Sept-2014 -- Due to a trip I won't be able to give the lecture on Friday, 19-Sep, physically in the lecture hall at the normal date/time. Thus, there is no need for you to go to the lecture hall and try to attend the lecture. I will try to upload a podcast of the lecture asap. The slides are already posted on the course wiki.
- Week 2 -- The first week of lab sessions (beginning on Sep 8). Please make sure you know your lab group and go to the correct room. You must attend the first labs as it is there where you form/confirm your project teams and report team names and members to your lab assistants. It is highly recommended that you consult the list of enrolled students of your lab (posted above under 'Lab sessions.') even before the first lab and try to contact students you know in order to form a project team. Project teams shall have *three* members. All team members must be enrolled in the same lab (group). Some 4-person groups can be formed in case the total number of students in a lab is not a multiple of 3.
- Note: You are supposed to work with your own laptop. All students enrolled in the institute of computer science have the right to borrow an "IT academy laptop" for free. The online form for requesting an IT Academy laptop is here: http://www.cs.ut.ee/arvutid/index.php?action=taotlus
- 05-Sep-2014 -- The first lecture starts at 14:15 in lecture hall Liivi 2-111.
- Week 1 -- There won't be Labs during the first week of the semester.
