Project Description
Set in the fictional world of Hiis*, Heroes of Hiis allows players to create a character and explore a sprawling world while building their home base and cooperating with other players.
Gather resources, overcome the dangers of Hiis
To survive, players must gather resources and defeat evil monsters by completing mini-games and challenges. Completing these challenges rewards the player with the necessary resources to build, upgrade and decorate their home base.
Build the base of your dreams
"Heroes of Hiis" gives players the chance to build, upgrade and decorate their home base in their own unique way. Make your base feel like home.
Fight alongside each other, play together
Multiplayer brings players together by allowing them to be invited into another base, complete mini-games and challenges together and reap increased rewards. Beware, you may face more dangers!
- Hiis is a reference to Estonian mythology, translating to "Holy grove".
Introduction
As written in the text above, our game will include RPG elements, including player housing, progression-based “grinding”, unique interactions with the environment, either through resource-gathering, intense combat, gesture-based spellcasting, …
We plan to implement the basic infrastructure for multiplayer support, however, our roadmap is still subject to change. Our main focus is to develop a unique VR experience where players can immerse themselves in the world of Hiis, using gesture-based technology to complement the experience.
Story/Playthrough draft
You are a settler in the magical world of Hiis. Granting you magical abilities to aid you in your endeavors. As you need a permanent living space in this world, the need for resources increases. Players will need to venture out into the wilderness to collect valuable resources like Stone, Lumber, the essence of the magical plants around the continent, and much more. Along the way, you will encounter various dangers to overcome. From the friendly neighborhood green slimes on the Forgotten plains to the vicious ogres residing in the Sword mountains. Facing these dangers can reward players with resource bonuses, cosmetic trophies, and much more. (Skins for gloves?)
Technically a game can go on forever, challenging the player every time a little bit more when they progress to another challenge. A settler’s equipment and access to different spells will evolve over the course of the player's progression, deadlier weapons and more potent spells will aid the player in completing their goals. But be careful, you cannot keep going forever, an energy system limits the player's ability to complete infinite challenges, casting spells is exhausting too, you cannot keep casting the most potent spells every second.
