Channels
We name Zulip channels/groups using calendar year + term (fall / spring) and a short course mnemonic. Naming should be consistent with courses.cs.ut.ee.

- spring
- spring semester
Examples:

- 2026-spring-programming
- 2026-spring-ml
Per-course channels (streams)
For each course, we create at least two channels:
- Course channel(students + staff)
- YYYY-fall|spring-course
- Staff channel(teachers/TAs only)
- YYYY-fall|spring-course-staff This channel must be set private, if you don't wish to make it visible to course students

Instructions
Under Channels- > Create a channel
Create public channel until most of the people have joined, and then change it 'Private, protected history'. Share the link with students 
-> Copy link to channel
To choose who can post, change topics, moderate and so on, change rights under 'Advanced configuration'.
