Getting started
Read about the information services of ARC from the referred documents. It is important to understand the information system and services of Grid. Open all of the referred services.
Log in to the ATIGrid machine:
ssh atigrid.mt.ut.ee
Star grid session
arcproxy -S balticgrid
Exercise 1: Exploring Grid information services
Save the answers to the red questions and relevant command line output to W3_comments.txt file
ARC information services
Open the NorduGrid Monitor and look around in the portal.
Find answers to the questions:
- How many Clusters (CE) have more than 1000 CPUs occupied?
- How many CE have more than 10TB Disk space available?
- Which Job has been using the most CPU time?
- How many CPUs are available at Tintin cluster?
- What is the operating system of Tintin cluster?
Try the arcinfo command:
arcinfo -h
- What kind of information can be useful for a Grid user (you)?
Also try the 'ldapsearch' program:
man ldapsearch
- Did you find anything interesting?
Try out the Estonian Grid Monitor as well.
