The scope
The Estonian Summer School in Computer and Systems Science is an annual international event for PhD and MSc students, postdocs, and faculty members. ESSCaSS promotes the interdisciplinary education of graduate students specialising in (but not limited to) computer science, systems science, software engineering, artificial intelligence, and bioinformatics. These schools carry an essential role in doctoral education in Estonia.

- Poster Session and Student talks
Poster sessions
There are Selected talks and Poster session planned. The main aim of these activities is to get participants actively involved in shaping the summer school. We hope these sessions are especially important to PhD students to improve their skills in presenting their topic, managing daily tasks more effectively, and sharing essential information. Exciting topics may be invited for a short oral presentation. A poster should be an extended abstract of the ongoing research, stating the problems, results (if any) and contribution. Please consider the following options:
- Poster is in Portrait mode, A0
- It is ok to bring a poster you have prepared for one or another conference/seminar/workshop
- Poster submission deadline is 7th of August and should be sent to e-mail kaia.kask@ut.ee. We will organise the printing of the poster for you!
Important Dates
- Early registration deadline: 15th June
- Late registration last deadline: 2nd of August
- Poster abstract submission deadline: 7th of August
Fees
- The participation fee is 400 EUR per person for early bird and 600 EUR per person for late registration.
Fee covers:
- all events and full catering related to summer school
- the lectures and materials
- accomodation
- bus transport to Lainela Resort and back

Accomodation
Accomodation is provided in Käsmu Resort in rooms for 2-4 people.
MSc students interested in research are also welcome to participate in the summer school and may get registration support from Estonian Doctoral School. If in doubt, contact your university or supervisor for funding opportunities. University of Tartu students can contact esscass@ut.ee.
