Atoms!
This semester, we will study the quantum computer architecture behind a paper that recently caused headache to crypto people: Shor's algorithm is possible with as few as 10,000 reconfigurable atomic qubits by Cain & co-authors.
Topics include single qubit control, Rydberg interaction, quantum LDPC codes, fault-tolerant quantum operations, syndrome decoding with Belief Propagation, and even compiler construction.
This is not a crypto seminar, though: We won't talk about Shor's algorithm.
First class meeting: Pushed back by one week
👉 We have decided to push back the first class meeting by a week, as several people are still traveling.
The 1st class meeting will take place:
- Cʜᴀɴɢᴇᴅ Wed, Sep 9, 14:00-16:00 — in the Delta building, room to be announced.
To receive the room announcement, please register on ÕIS before Wed 10:00; if you cannot do that (e.g., because it's now Wed 10:00:01), write an email (dotheis at ut dot ee).
In the meeting, a short overview about quantum computing with (Rydberg) atoms will be given, and a preliminary list of possible topics will be introduced.
