Description:
Cloud and computing technologies have become an important part of scientific and infotechology developement in recent years and Cities are becoming more and more technology dependant with large amount of sensors, connected vehicles and buildings. This seminar aims to introduce students to newest concepts and advances in Cloud computing and Smart City domains. Participants are expected to write an overview article on a chosen topic, give a oral presentation and take active part of all the seminars.
Some of the topics covered by the seminar are:
- Cloud providers,
- cloud based software frameworks,
- Cloud performance,
- Large scale data processing in cloud,
- Scientific computing in the cloud,
- Developement of cloud based applications,
- Smart City challenges,
- Mobility analysis and modelling,
- Smart transportation.
To pass the seminar, the student has to :
- Give an oral presentation on a chosen topic
- Participate actively in all the seminars
- Write a report on a chosen topic
- Provide peer review
