Grading

  • 70p Projects total (groups of 3-4 students)
    • 15p Project 1 (+ peer grading 5p)
    • 15p Project 2 (+ peer grading 5p)
    • 15p Project 3 (+ peer grading 5p)
    • 10p Project poster & presentation
  • 30p Exam
  • During the course, you may earn bonus points (e.g., in-class quizzes).

To pass the course, you need at least half the points in projects (35p) and exam (15p). Passing grades:

  • A 91-...p
  • B 81-90p
  • C 71-80p
  • D 61-70p
  • E 51-60p
  • F ...-50p

Projects

The projects together should demonstrate an end-to-end data engineering lifecycle product. Projects are completed in fixed groups of 3–4 people, formed in Week 2 (deadline 2025-09-14).

Exam

The exam takes place physically with two options: on 8th December, 16:15 (lecture time) OR 9th December, 16:15 (practice time). The room is 1019 in Delta.

The exam is with pen & paper.

Duration is 1h 15 minutes.

Use of laptops/phones/books/talking is not allowed. You can use one single (double-sided) A4 paper, only with handwritten notes. If the notes on A4 are not handwritten, the notes will be removed. If the student uses any device or help during the exam that is not allowed, it will be considered academic fraud.

The questions in the exam are based on the course book(s), lectures, and practice sessions.

Example questions will be posted on Moodle about 1 week before exam time.

At least 50% (15 points) are needed to successfully pass the exam.
