General Information

The objective of the course is to introduce students to the practices and methods used for extracting and presenting relevant information for decision-making out of databases. In this course, the students will get a background on data integration (including warehousing), data analysis in databases and data presentation. The seminar will give the students hand-on experience accomplishing these tasks. The principles and techniques learned in this course are the basis for designing business intelligence (BI) solutions and expert systems.

The course is not graded and the participants need to present one business intelligence related case study review and create a solution to solve at least one task in business intelligence solution. The First two seminars are introductory and give overview of business intelligence theme. The following seminars will discuss different business intelligence tasks based on case studies and practice tasks.
