8. Project reportSchedule has been changed. The new presentation date is June 2.
The projects are awesome! After some homework burn-in you get to do something almost practically useful and try to improve a conventional MT system in a way you come up with.
Schedule:
April 15: project topic discussion at the lab (slides)
April 19: project topic and brief outline submitted
May 3: intermediate report submitted
In the intermediate report, you have to show what you have been doing so far. A 1-2 page PDF is enough. The format is free: describe in your own words what you have done, include supplementary materials (graphs, tables, translation examples, etc.) if necessary.
May 6: intermediate result presentation at the lab
There will be a meeting where you will give short talks about your work so far, based on your report. A 5-minute talk is enough, and it would be nice to have 1-2 slides to illustrate it.
June 1: test set translation submitted
June 2: project poster session at the time of the lecture; project report submitted
