Topic: inductive biases, psychedelics, and the brain

Target audience: Master's and Doctoral students with the willingness to read and present technical papers

Seminars: Thursdays (14:15-15:45)

Location: Delta (Narva mnt 18), room 1037 (except Feb 26 in room 2017)

Content

Main questions include:

  • What are inductive biases and why they are needed for learning?
  • What types of inductive biases do different machine learning models and brains have?
  • What are the No Free Lunch theorems and are they relevant for machine learning practice?
  • What are the implications of psychedelics and their effects on inductive biases in the brain?

Learning Environment

Seminars take place each week in person in Delta.

To Pass

  • Every week: a) read the paper(s) about to be discussed and create a study diary entry (more details given in the 1st meeting), b) participate in the discussion.
  • For one week of your choice: prepare and present the paper(s) for that date and lead the discussion.
