This year the seminar theme is chatbots and more generally - human-computer interaction. The aim is to get an understanding of the field: the task, challenges, approaches and methods. We will focus on open-domain free conversation chatbots, task-oriented chatbots, evaluating chatbots and other interaction like question answering etc.

Requirements / Grading

To get a positive grade for the seminar you will need to:

  • Read the paper assigned for this seminar and submit a ½-1 page summary of the paper (the main point, what you found surprising / liked / disliked / new that you did not know before). You need to submit the summaries of at least half of the papers (7)
  • Attend the seminars and participate in the discussion of the paper. Attendance in at least half the seminars (= 7 reading seminars) is compulsory.

The summary must be submitted by 11.00 Friday morning before the meeting. Please use the links on the Topics page for submitting your summaries.
