LTAT.00.008
Theoretical Informatics Project
3+3 ECTS
Students perform (applied) research related to theoretical informatics (including quantum stuff) under the guidance of a supervisor. This course is not for software development projects; choose MTAT.03.237 Practical Training in Informatics instead.
The learning goals are:
- To perform (applied) research
- To work and interact with the supervisor and other researchers and members of the team.
- To work independently (under the guidance of a supervisor) to fulfill an open project.
Note that "perform research" is not the same as "obtain results".
The starting point is LTAT.04.004 Quantum Seminar.
Take both courses at the same time.
In principle, there are "academic" projects and company projects.
For a company project...
... find a company that commits to guiding you in some applied research project for ~ 80 hours (= 3 ECTS, or ~ 160 h for two semesters). The company needs to designate a person as a supervisor, and in the end certify that you have worked for (roughly) the required amount of time, and fulfilled the learning goals (see above).
With that commitment, go to the person who is designated as "responsible" for the course on ÕIS/SIS.
For an "academic" project...
... contact potential supervisors:
Possible project supervisors:
- Prof. Dominique Unruh
- Assoc. Prof. Vitaly Skachek
- Assoc. Prof. Vesal Vojdani
- Bahman Ghandchi
